Food waste makes up about 30% of
the average home’s garbage, but less than 3%
of the more than 30 millions tons of food waste is
recycled. (EPA) It is averaged that restaurants, food
processors or cafeterias account for a much as 50%
of the material that are destined for our landfills.
In addition to cost effective solutions, recycling
organic waste also reduces the amount of waste going
in to our landfills.
Global Environmental Services of
CT collects and processes food waste from restaurants,
universities, food processing companies, nursing homes,
etc. for various agricultural and horticultural applications.
To achieve the end result of turning food bi-product
into renewable, reusable resources, Global has teamed
up with Ohio-based Garick Corporation. Garick is the
leading distributor of natural resource products that
service the landscape, recreation, lawn, garden and
construction industries. One of the company’s
composting facilities in now located in New Milford,
CT, making it the first facility of its kind in Connecticut.
New Milford Farms converts food by-product waste into
resources such as nutrient-rich top soil, and other
compostable materials to be used by farmers, gardeners
and landscapers across the country.
Global Environmental Services will
work with you to customize a recycling program for
your company. Contact us today to develop the recycling
